Georgia O'Keeffe

O'Keeffe was born in Wisconsin 1887, she later moved to New Mexico where she has he own art gallery (which I have visited). She was primarily a painter and most of her paintings are of the NM animal skulls and the barren desert landscapes, but I found these photographs of her's to be gorgeous. This photo has very nice contrast between the hands and the background - it really makes them look like they are coming out of nothing. The fabric in the second photo seems as though it should be a soft textured background, yet strangely it feels very coarse.
Literally, the photos are of hands, one scratching each other, the other sewing. I feel like even though they are only hands, they tell a fine tale. The one on the top seems amidst some frustration, or turmoil, while the one on the bottom is more focused on precision and delicacy. Personally, I find hands to be very fascinating - how they move, and what they do.
